INDIANA ABORTION CENTER REGULATIONS

In 2005, the Indiana General Assembly under Republican control corrected a glaring loophole that had previously allowed Indiana abortion centers to operate without any health, safety or licensing standards. As signed into law by Governor Mitch Daniels, Indiana now requires detailed license and inspection regulations for Indiana abortion centers.

Unfortunately, abortion centers in operation prior to July 1, 2007 were exempted from many of the new physical plant requirements due to the inclusion of a grandfather clause, but licensing and inspection standards still apply. Abortion centers that fail to comply may have their operating licenses revoked by the state.
