Six members of Indiana’s congressional delegation added their names to an amicus brief to the U.S. Supreme Court in support of a Louisiana law protecting moms and babies from abortion drugs by mail. The brief reads in part:
“By deregulating chemical abortion drugs and permitting them to be sent through the
mail, the Biden FDA violated that longstanding federal law. Unelected, unaccountable bu
reaucrats in Biden’s FDA therefore overrode the will of the American people as expressed
through their elected representatives in Congress and in state legislatures and subverted
Congress’s critical public policy interests in upholding patient welfare. The lawless actions
of the Biden FDA have also caused real harm and continue to endanger women and girls
undergoing chemical abortions, warranting the preliminary relief granted by the Fifth Cir
cuit. As pro-life elected representatives, Amici are committed to protecting women and girls
from the harms of the abortion industry. Amici are also committed to upholding the rule of
law and the proper separation of powers outlined in our Constitution”
Indiana legislator joining the brief include Sen. Todd Young, Sen. Jim Banks, Rep. Erin Houchin, Rep. Mark Messmer, Rep. Marlin Stutzman, and Rep. Rudy Yakym.
